Happy Birthday Michael!

Today is Michaels birthday. We went to dinner last night with he and his girlfriend and today he is having a BBQ with Andrew and friends(we didn't get an invite;)).
I cannot believe how time flies. He was just a tiny baby what seems like days ago. He has moved out and on to his own life now.
We love you sweet boy!

Rhyming

Today James asked me if Broccoli and Blocks rhyme(a valiant effort I thought).
Mommy: They do sound alike but rhyming words are like blocks and clocks or mice and ice or twice and ice...

James:Mommy stop, you're freaking me out!

Mommy was then rolling on floor laughing her a** off!!!!

James is the one who, at two years, told me he'd just can't handle any more of these Mommy shows while I was watching food network one night. What is to come????

Bamo's

Two nights ago I was particularly frustrated with Gavin. Gavin is very busy and must occupy himself with things other than toys at all times. Sometimes this is quite nervewracking.

Gavin walked up to Jim while I was discussing my frustrations and handed him a drawing.

Daddy: "What a nice horse you drew"

Gavin: "it's a Bamo"

Daddy: "A Bama??"

Gavin "No Daddy, I already told you. It's a Bamo"

Daddy: "What is a Bamo?'

Gavin: "Bamo's live on Earf"

Daddy: "Oh on Earth"

Gavin: No Daddy, EARF"

Mommy giggles and feels guilty for forgeting this is a 2(almost 3) year old.

An amazing message

I've been going through some things that are pretty tough. Today I got a private message on my Mom's board from a woman I have not met personally. It was profound and I wanted to share a small bit. Sometimes the kindness of strangers is amazing!

"You just have to decide where you want to be left standing when all is said and done, and work towards that."

There were so many more sentances that were amazing in her message, but this one is truely the big picture.

Thanks, Shannon!

This is it in a nutshell

I really need a red umbrella!

Ramen Noodles will get you through

I ordered some yummy CPK goat cheese and pepper pizza. Jim had his usal BLT pizza and the tiny boys were sharing mine. Mine had eggplants and James did not want to try them. He says he doesn't like them.

Me: What will you do if you go to another country and have to try new foods

James: I will take Ramen Noodles

Apparently Michael and Andrew have shared a few too many. I personally don't consider Ramen Noodles a food item, but teens and toddlers love them:)

Where did the day go and Frog

Today we left the house at 9:30 for soccer clsee(Gavin spend much of it darting and running from his unprepared coach). WE ran a couple errands and got a haircut for James. On the way home from said errands, I looked at the time... 3:44! Where does the time go? I can tell you that grocery shopping with two children in tow will easily eat up 2 hours!
Tonight Gavin came to me and said "Mommy, I'm very sick" I said "Really Gavin, what is your illness" He looked at me questioningly and said "Froggy"(somewhat unsure look on his face) then, "my illness is frog".I promptly gave him his amoxocillin. We can't have any frogs!

Will you unbuckle me

James knows how to buckle and unbuckle his carseat now. Gavin believes him to be the boy who hung the moon~sweet brothers:)
Yesterday we went to Joes crab shack, not because we like Joe's, but they have the best lure for parents. They have a full outdoor playscape, complete with messy sand, connected to the patio. Hello Margarita's and no babysitter fee's.
When we arrived home Gavin asked James "Will you unbuckle me". I was listening to them as I talked to my Mom on the phone and heard James say "Okay, Gavin. This one time, but never again." Daddy says this to James about almost everything, he's teasing James. I think James may have been serious~LOL!

Time out

(Gavin pouring water on living room floor)

Daddy: Gavin why are you doing that?

(Gavin does not reply)

Daddy: Gavin you are going to sit in time out. You can get out when you tell me why you are in time out.

(this is not the method Daddy and I have discussed, ie: tell them why they are going to TO, give them a time limit, ask them to tell you why they went to time out and apologize, let them out...but that's not the point of this post:))

Gavin sits...er climbs around... in the chair for a couple seconds then Daddy asks: Gavin why are you in time out?

Gavin:I'm in time out because Daddy put me in time out.

(Mommy tries to contain laughter)
